'POWER' is a 15 certificate movie as it sticks within the guidelines and follows the rules of what a 15 rated movie has to consist of. This includes the fact that drugs are shown but nor promoted or encouraged in the film altogether. Also, it does have strong language but not on such a high frequency to make it a 18. Another reason it's a 15 is because there is some sexual activity but not in strong detail making it fit within the guideline for a fifteen rated movie.
The rules of a 15 certificate rated movie are as follows: •No one under 15 may buy, rent or see a film in the cinema. •Discrimination - The work as a whole must not endorse discriminatory language or behaviour, although there may be racist, homophobic or other discriminatory themes and language. •Drugs – this can be shown but as w whole it can’t promote or encourage drug misuse. •Imitable behaviour - Dangerous behaviour (for example, hanging, suicide and self-harming) should not dwell on detail which could be copied. •Language - There may be strong language. Very strong language may be permitted, depending on the manner in which it is used, who is using the language, its frequency within the work as a whole and any special contextual justification. •No constraints on nudity in a non – sexual or educational content. May be with sexual context but without strong detail. •There may be strong threat and horror. A sustained focus on sadistic or sexual threat is unlikely to be acceptable. •Violence may be strong but should not dwell on the infliction of pain or injury. The strongest gory images are unlikely to be acceptable. Strong sadistic violence is also unlikely to be acceptable. There may be detailed verbal references to sexual violence but the depiction of sexual violence must be discreet and justified by context. The movie 'POWER' is a 15 certificate and the fact it doesn't disobey any of these guidelines makes it a 15 rated movie.
